Installing VICE C64 Emulator for Linux

OVERVIEW:

There is a Debian package for the VICE (The Versatile Commodore Emulator) that yields the operating system depicted below.

INSTALLATION:

  1. Obtain and install the VICE package for your Linux distribution.
  2. Extract then copy 1541, basic, chargen and kernal files from [say] Frodo emulator’s binaries to ~/.vice/C64
  3. Open the VICE emulator by typing ‘x64’ into a terminal window.
  4. Click an area within the emulated background and hold to bring up menu.
